STAR’s Internationalization Vision and Strategies

STAR (Social, Humanities, Basic Sciences Accreditation and Rating Association) aims to strengthen its impact in the global higher education landscape by taking strong steps in the internationalization process. Supporting Social, Humanities, and Basic Sciences undergraduate programs in Turkey and the TRNC to achieve world-class quality, STAR provides students with more contemporary, innovative, and competitive educational opportunities through its international collaborations and memberships. STAR’s strategic partnerships bolster international cooperation with tangible outcomes in curriculum development, research projects, and employment-oriented initiatives.

In 2023, STAR achieved significant international successes and realized the following collaborations:

CEENQA Full Membership: As of June 2023, STAR was accepted as a full member of the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA). This membership has strengthened STAR’s alignment with global quality standards and its credibility.

IKCA Collaboration: In May 2023, STAR signed an agreement with the Kazakhstan Accreditation Center (IKCA), a member of ENQA, to initiate joint projects for developing innovative accreditation models.

NCPA Collaboration: In July 2023, STAR partnered with the National Public Accreditation Agency (NCPA) of Russia to promote mutual knowledge exchange in international quality assurance processes.

HEA Collaboration: In August 2023, STAR signed an agreement with the Agency for Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HEA) to develop a global collaboration model aimed at improving program quality.

These collaborations concretize STAR’s internationalization goals as follows:

Alignment with Global Accreditation Standards: By enhancing the international recognition of the programs it accredits, STAR ensures that students and graduates are acknowledged worldwide.

Increasing International Recognition: STAR’s memberships and collaborations facilitate the integration of programs in Turkey and the TRNC into the global education community.

Enhancing Program Quality: Through the application of international models in its accreditation processes, STAR aims to develop curricula and improve student success.

STAR’s commitment to internationalization enables the organization to develop innovative, sustainable, and quality-focused solutions in higher education by establishing strong global collaborations.

This process reinforces STAR’s vision to be not only a regional but also a global leader in the field.
